there is no magic answer
or shortcut to bypass the pain
and no matter how dark it might seem
a choice has to be made
whether you will keep fighting forward
for your own survival
or whether you will throw in the towel
give into the pain
to numb the feeling forever
of having to endure
that which has caused you enormous grief
yet it’s never as simple as people believe it to be
it is never as clear
because the consequences of one action
creates a ripple effect
that no one could have foreseen
i have stood before this door
and i know i am not the only one
and the opportunity presents itself
time and time again
but somehow
i find my way back
to a place where i can breathe again
to find some semblance of not giving up
but fighting to stay alive
death might seem like the only way out
and if you choose to
then no one would ever know what made you decide
to take that leap
into the great beyond
but what ever the reason
the loss of someone you love
is never repaired or replaced
and can not ever be healed
as it leaves its scars on our lives
no one can force you
or tell you what to do
and it might seem
no one truly knows what is living
deep within your soul
but i do hope that
what ever the reason might be
i hope you will find a reason
not to open that door
because we dont know if we will ever return
from the great beyond
only love can guide us
and bring us back safely
so before you make a choice
just remember there is someone
who loves you for you no matter what
